How do I get started as an Insider? Empty How do I get started as an Insider?

Being an Insider means that you are taking the initiative to be a 'culture changer' in your First Responder community. Through the equipping tools that Responder Life offers, you will begin to elevate your awareness to the needs of the men and women around you, engaging them with life affirming resources that will encourage them in their journey. These resources are both practical and spiritual in nature. The endpoint is that God will use you to be a light in your sphere of influence as you speak the truth of Christ and bring hope & healing to your culture.

The first thing you should do is pray.

As an Insider, you will need to be attentive to the Holy Spirit's leading. It is important to know that God is already at work in the life of every person you know, calling them to Himself. You factor in as an 'Agent of the King'. Someone who represents the Kingdom of God and can speak to His message. As you pray, ask God to open your eyes to what he is already doing around you and cause you to see where you can jump in and join the effort.

This may involve listening to someone vent about their frustrations, fears, and problems or just encouraging them when they need a friend. Allow the Spirit to coach you when you should speak and when you should be silent. And when you do speak, speak the words of truth that give life.

Being an Insider isn't about creating some huge 'Evangelistic Revival Campaign', but rather learning what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and one that is further called to be a 'disciple-maker', bringing others to the knowledge of the truth of God and inviting them to join you in following his son, Jesus.

To accomplish this, it may often be necessary to 'come along side' a friend or peer that is in need. We all have colleagues whose lives are in shambles or spinning out of control; if you can step in and help 'stop the bleeding', be it in their relationships, their finances, their physical health, their 'job' health or their mental health. You will be bringing them to a place where you can share with them the 'Man behind the Mission', the one who has healed your spirit, and given you eternal life.
